Whether you are a professional dog groomer or you groom your own dogs at home, when buying a top-quality dog dryer, you should be looking for the following features:
  • High Air Flow:  In order to avoid hurting your dog's sensitive skin, you will need to have a dryer that has high air flow, so you can remove all water from the animal's fur without needing too much heat.​
  • Non-Heat Option: As high heat may hurt or even burn the sensitive skin of your dog, it is important to have a no-heat option on the dryer. Most of the time, the motor itself will warm up sufficiently the flowing air for adequate grooming. The heat option should be used mostly in special situations such as when there is very thick and long hair, so that the skin of the dog will not be affected.

Indeed, at the time of this writing, both products had received 4.5 stars (out of 5 stars) which is exceptional! In addition, as shown by the feature comparison table above, they both come with the must-have features listed in the introduction to this article. They both generate high air flow, they have a no-heat (or warm heat) option, they are equipped with spiral-wound hoses, they have variable speeds and they are reasonably silent at lower speeds.  In addition, they are both portable and light weight, making it easy to carry around with a handle. Finally, cleaning the filter in both dryers is very easy: just turn the knob until the back casing comes off, remove the filter and either clean it, or add a new one. Therefore, there is a good chance that you would be quite happy with either of these two dryers.

The most important difference between the two products is the maximum airflow speed achieved by each. Clearly, at 28000 FPM, Flying Pig One can generate much stronger air flow than the Shelandy dryer. Therefore, if you are dealing with larger dogs and/or thicker and longer fur, you should consider Flying Pig One. Otherwise, you will also be quite happy with the Shelandy dryer.
