Explanation of Notes 1 to 13 from Comparison Table:
N. 1:
The iAdapt responsive cleaning technology composed of sophisticated software and sensors allows these two Roomba robots to clean more thoroughly the room, making multiple passes, avoiding stairs, getting under and around furniture, and cleaning along wall edges and corners. The low profile design of these robots allows cleaning under most furniture. They also automatically adjust to all floor types - carpet, tile, hardwood, laminate and more.
An important aspect of iAdapt technology is Dirt Detection: Both Roomba 614 and 675 are equipped with sensors which allow them to find dirtier areas and spend more time cleaning them. These patented Dirt Detect sensors alert these robots to work harder on concentrated areas of dirt, such as high-traffic zones of your home.
N. 2:
Both of these Roomba robots use a 3-stage vacuuming system:
N. 3:
Both robots use an AeroVac filter that handles quite adequately hair, pet fur, lint and carpet fuzz.
N. 4:
When Roomba 675 is connected via Wi-Fi to your smartphone, you can use the iRobot Home App for Android and iOS to invoke remotely operations (such as cleaning, scheduling, etc.).
N. 5:
Scheduling of Roomba 675 can be pre-set up to 7 times per week. The robot starts vacuuming as soon as the scheduled time is reached.
Note that there is no scheduling on Roomba 614.
N. 6:
When batteries run low, both Roomba robots return to their Home Base to dock and recharge.
N. 7:
Both robots are equipped with a Home button that can be pressed to force the robot to dock at its Home Base. Of course, the robot will also go automatically to its Home Base when battery runs low.
N. 8:
Both robots can be asked to spot clean. When spot clean is invoked, the robot will spiral approximately 3 feet in diameter and then spiral back to where it started for an intense, localized clean for those quick fixes.
N. 9:
Both robots use a Lithium Ion battery.
Lithium-Ion batteries are designed to provide longer cleaning sessions than Ni-Mh batteries, and they last longer before needing to be replaced.
Battery Run Times:
Both robots can run for up to 90 minutes before automatically docking and recharging.
Note that run times can vary extensively depending on the amount of work the robot has to do to clean the floors. That is because different types of carpets, different floor plans and different amounts of dirt may require different amounts of effort from the robot and hence different amounts of ''juice'' from the battery.
N. 10:
N. 11:
These two Roomba robots do not come with a virtuall wall unit to stop the robot from entering areas not to be cleaned.
However, both Roombs 614 and Roomba 675 are compatible with the Dual Mode Virtual Wall Barrier unit which is a little standalone device that is used to keep away the robot from rooms or areas it is not supposed to enter. If required, Dual Mode Virtual Wall Barriers can be obtained optionally (see Amazon products section below).

N. 2:
Both of these Roomba robots use a 3-stage vacuuming system:
- Counter-rotating dual multi-surface brushes (on both Roomba 614 and 675) work together to grab dust, dirt, and large debris to help thoroughly clean your floors. The first brush loosens, lifts, and pulls in dust, dirt, and hair from floors and in carpet, the second accelerates debris into the suction channel.
- A spinning edge-sweeping side brush cleans along wall edges. It is specially designed at a 27-degree angle to sweep debris away from edges and corners.
- Finally, an efficient vacuum pulls dirt and hair off the brushes and directs it into the bin.
