The following pictures show the two robots selected for comparison:
The following table compares the two robots. Please read the table notes that follow for a better understanding of the feature differences.
Notes 1 - 20 Explained:
Note 1:
Both robots are circular. Proscenic 820S is a little bit thinner, only 2.9" in height, as opposed to 3.8" for Proscenic M7 Pro, which means that it can go better under low lying furniture. It is also a little bit narrower, 13.9" wide, as opposed to 13.7" for Proscenic M7 Pro, and therefore, it can also pass slightly better through narrower passages. But both robots are thin and small enough to access most areas under sofas, beds, and around furniture for efficient cleaning.
Note 2:
Both robots support Wi-Fi and can be controlled remotely from a smartphone or tablet using the ProscenincHome App.
Note also that both robots are compatible with Amazon Alexa, so they can be voice controlled. Simply ask Alexa to start, stop, or dock your robot.
Note 3:
The following brushes are used by the two robots:
Note 4:
The laser-based navigation system of Prosceninc M7 Pro intelligently navigates and maps your home, creates a real-time map of your house and then plans a best cleaning path. Note the following useful features:

Note 3:
The following brushes are used by the two robots:
- Both Proscenic 820S and Proscenic M7 Pro come with one rolling bristle brush which is great for deep cleaning of carpets, and that can also be used on hard floors.
- Both Proscenic 820S and Proscenic M7 Pro are also equipped with double side brushes to clean effectively corners and wall edges.
Note 4:
The laser-based navigation system of Prosceninc M7 Pro intelligently navigates and maps your home, creates a real-time map of your house and then plans a best cleaning path. Note the following useful features:
- Using the visually accessible map on the ProscenicHome App, you can control where the machine will clean, select and schedule which rooms or zones to clean and create virtual no-go zones, This is illustrated in the picture that follows below.
- With the ProscenicHome App, the M7 Pro robot vacuum can save more than one map, which means that multi-floor maps can be saved on the App, a great feature for those who have a house with more than one floor.
Note 5:
Both robots can transition with ease between different types of floors, be it hardwood, laminate, tiled or covered with low pile carpets.
While Proscenic M7 Pro can cross over 0.78 inch tall obstacles, Proscenic 820S can climb a height of 0.59 inch, which is higher than what other vacuuming robots can do.
Note 6:
Both robots are equipped with infrared anti-collision sensors. They can easily identify and evade obstacles avoiding collisions with furniture or other household items and preventing these items from damage.
In addition to the infrared sensors, Proscenic M7 also is equipped with a laser sensor that scans and locates placement of objects in the house protecting even more the robot from collisions.
Note 7:
Both robots are equipped with infrared anti-drop detectors that prevent the robot from falling down steps or stairs.
Note 8:
Note 9:
Both robots automatically recognize a carpet and switch to maximum suction power to clean it. As soon as the robot leaves the carpet, it returns to the previous suction power.
Note 10:
Note 11:
Using the ProscenicHome App, both robots can be scheduled to clean your home any day and time of the week.
Note that with Proscenic M7 Pro, you can also do room or zone specific scheduling.
Note 12:
When the battery gets low, both robots return to the docking station to recharge and be ready for the next run.
Note 13:
If the cleaning job was not completed when the robot goes to recharge, Proscenic M7 Pro will automatically resume the job where it was interrupted after recharge is complete. On the other hand, Proscenic 820S will have to be restarted.
Note 14:
Proscenic M7 Pro is equipped with a mopping system that uses a cleaning cloth attached to a reservoir. Once the cloth is attached and the mopping mode is selected, the mopping system dampens the cloth pad from liquid from the reservoir, mops the floor and dries it to a sparkling shine.
Note that when mopping is used with Proscenic M7 Pro, because the water tank is equipped with an electronically controlled system, you can control the speed of water seepage from the water tank to the floor as you need using the App.
In order to avoid carpets from getting wet, it is recommended not to put water in the water tank when carpets are cleaned.
Note that the robot will not ooze any water when it is stationary, docking, charging or paused; thus, you don't need to worry about leaks when it is not in use.
Note 15:
Both robots are equipped with a HEPA style filter. HEPA stands for "high efficiency particulate air" and is a filter grade defined by the US Department of Energy which requires the filter to be able to remove more than 99.97% of particles.
These filters are easily removed and cleaned.
Note 16:
Both robots are equipped with a 600ml dust bin that can be easily removed and emptied. No bags are needed.
Note that with Proscenic M7 Pro, optionally, the dust bin can be automatically emptied (see Note 17 below).
Note 17:
With Proscenic M7 Pro, the robot's dust bin can be automatically emptied when the bin gets full and the robot goes back to its docking station. So, with this robot, you can forget about vacuuming from start to finish. You don't need to worry about emptying the dust container at all.
Note: The intelligent dust collector is not included in the package when you buy the robot, you will need to buy it separately (see the Amazon products section below for obtaining the optional dust collector).
Note 18:
Lithium-Ion batteries run longer vacuuming sessions than Ni-Cad (Nickel Cadmium) or NiMH (Nickel–Metal Hydride) batteries and last longer before battery replacement is needed. Here are the characteristics of the batteries use by these two robots:

- With Proscenic M7 Pro, thanks to the floor map built by the robot and accessible on the ProscenicHome App, you can select specific rooms or zones to be cleaned. In addition, you can schedule the cleaning time per room and zone. Finally, using the visual map on the App, you can also create virtual no-go zones for areas that the robot is not supposed to enter.
- Since there is no map built by Proscenic 820S, room and zone based cleaning is not possible. However, the robot offers specific modes of cleaning, such manual cleaning, edge cleaning and spot cleaning that allow you to cover those specific areas that the robot may have missed or that are very dirty and require more intense cleaning.
Note 9:
Both robots automatically recognize a carpet and switch to maximum suction power to clean it. As soon as the robot leaves the carpet, it returns to the previous suction power.
Note 10:
- The magnetic strips used by Proscenic 820S are easily cut to fit doorways, around pet bowls, or anywhere you don't want your robot to clean. Magnetics strips are included with the purchase of the robot.
- With Proscenic M7 Pro no magnetic strips are needed. The ProscenicHome App on your smartphone can be used to select no-go zones on the visual map for those areas that are not supposed to be cleaned.
